The Lawan Buddha is made of organic resin and hand poured into molds in Bangkok, Thailand by a female entrepreneur and her team of craftswomen and men part of the Resin Workers Union in their bright and airy workshop. Each piece is uniquely poured and has a substantial, weighty feel. Dating back to the 1st century, Thai art has been heavily influenced by Buddhist art, shaping Thai folklore for centuries.
