Blues + Whites for your Independence Day

In the spirit of America’s Independence Day and our love of blue and white, we’ve gathered a few of our favorite things to show you how you can entertain this 4th of July.

White is an inherently positive color, associated with illumination, beginnings, and possibility. Blue symbolizes depth and stability - the sky and the sea. Below are a few of our favorite items to help you create an inviting, calm, and illuminating environment during this week’s festivities.

5 Tips for Incorporating Blues + Whites into your Independence Day Celebration

1. Add pops of blue and white to your kitchen counter with these jars, which can double up as sugar containers or garlic jars

The Chati Porcelain Jar is carefully crafted and hand painted by male and female artisans in a small batch factory outside of Bangkok, Thailand. The intricate art of blue-and-white pottery has been prevalent in Thailand since the 1300’s, and this piece brings years of tradition and ancestral energy into every room.

2. Create a sense of warmth with a blue and white throw that can serve as a table runner during the holidays

Chailai Throw

The Chailai Throw + Tablerunner is handwoven by Thai women in rural communities working for a small, female-lead business in the surrounding areas of Bangkok, Thailand. Each piece is mud dipped in natural dye, an ancient process that Thai craftswomen carry on today. By using many applications of plant juices, teas and mud, they are able to hand dye the cotton fibres and create these one-of-a-kind pieces.

3. Relax with a friend over a cup of tea served in a festive blue and white themed tea service

The Thu Ceramic + Bronze Tea Set was handmade and fired by handicapped female artists in a small workshop in the scenic, coastal town of Hoi An, Vietnam. Employees receive training, ongoing support, a meal allowance, social insurance and health insurance.

4. Wear a pop of blue or clear crystal to herald in a sense of calm and truth telling

Named after one of Uranus’ five moons, meaning ‘she who must be admired,’ our delicate Miranda Clear Quartz Necklace will become your go to necklace whether dressing up or down. Clear quartz is known as the master healer, regulating and restoring your energy level across all chakras.

The striking Cordelia Natural Blue Quartz Necklace enhances organizational abilities, self-discipline and communication skills while also opening the throat chakra. Blue quartz brings peace to the wearer by helping them speak their truth.

5. Spark your inner warrior with a bold white statement piece around your neck

Known as the Philosopher’s shell, the small, smooth white cowry shell of our Marshanda Feather Shell Necklace represents increased fertility, energy and injects new vitality to the wearer’s life. The white feathers symbolize peace, protection and divine help. An emblem of beauty and perfection, this weighty shell necklace is sure to brighten up anyone’s soul. This necklace was crafted by a small weaving cooperative in Ubud, Bali - the sacred healing island in Indonesia.

How do you plan on celebrating the 4th?
